A place to keep the books, films, shows and music that actually stuck with you — and, if you want it, a way to meet people through them. Your archive is the profile. Nobody has to write a bio at two in the morning.

Books, movies, TV shows, songs, comics, podcasts, video games — plus a few less obvious ones like cities, food and YouTube channels. Search pulls covers and details from the usual catalogues, or you can type an entry in by hand.

If none of the built-in categories fit, make your own in Settings. Custom categories are private to you by default; you choose whether to share one.

Yes. Making an account, archiving as much as you like, following people and using the social side all cost nothing, with no ads and no premium tier holding features back.

No. There are two modes, and you pick in Settings → Experience Mode. Solo is a private archive with the social surfaces switched off. Social adds discovery, follows, item channels, groups and messages.

You can switch either way later, and switching to solo doesn't delete anything.

You decide, item by item. Everything you add carries its own visibility — public, followers only, or private — and so do your bio, pictures and collections.

A share link is narrower still: it shows only the sections and the identity you picked for it, and you can revoke or expire it whenever you like.

Two ways. Connect Spotify in Settings → Linked Accounts and your saved songs import in bulk. Or use Import from a file in Settings to upload a CSV — there is a template to start from.

Apple Music is listed but greyed out: it needs a paid Apple Developer membership before the API is reachable at all. It isn't forgotten, it's blocked.

Yes — create one when you add an item, or manage them in Settings → Your Categories. A category you make is private by default, because the name is yours to write; mark it shared if you want it offered to everyone.

No. Titles are shared catalogue entries, so you and everyone else point at the same record for the same album. Your status, your rating and your notes stay yours — that's also what makes finding people through a shared title possible.

It depends only on how short it is. Current prices:

Longer names are free and stay free. Nothing about your account changes based on which one you have.

Because it's the whole business. No ads, no data brokers, no profile of you assembled for someone else to target.

It's an odd model with one useful property: it only pays off if people actually want to be here. A name is worth something because the place is.

The shortest names are bid-only — there is no buy-now. Bidding opens at the price above and runs for seven days; the highest bid when the timer ends wins.

The winner then has 48 hours to pay. If they don't, the name is released and anyone can go after it again.

Yes. List it on the marketplace at your own price, or field offers and accept one. When it sells, the name transfers to the buyer, you get a temporary handle, and IAMA takes 20% of the sale.

No, and we don't hand it to anyone for advertising or marketing. The only outside companies involved are the two that keep the service running: our database and sign-in provider, and the payment processor if you buy a username. Each sees only what that job requires.

Through public items you have in common — nothing else. Matching runs on what you've chosen to make public, and it only runs at all if you're in social mode and have marked your profile discoverable.

We don't buy information about you, and we don't send anything about you out to be profiled.

Block them, which cuts contact in both directions — you can manage the list in Settings → Blocked Users. If it needs a human, report the account; reports go to a moderation queue that real people work through.

From Settings, whenever you want. You don't have to ask us and you don't have to explain why. It takes your profile, your archive and everything attached with it — it is permanent, and there is no undo.

An export tool is being built: profile, items, collections and notes as a CSV, with the media you uploaded alongside it. It will appear in Settings when it's ready.

You shouldn't need our permission to leave with your own things.

IAMA installs from the browser — open it on your phone and choose “Add to Home Screen”, or use the install prompt on desktop. It then behaves like an app, including offline handling, without going through a store.

Possibly. IAMA is still under development, and accounts may be reset or deleted before launch. Don't treat it as the only copy of anything you can't lose yet.
